Then congratulations! Here is the solution you want to get absolutely. I’m going to tell you how to simply restore formatted files and data from your thumb drive using Command Prompt (CMD).

And, of course, it’s totally FREE!

Note: For data recovery reasons, it’s important to get your formatted USB out of use immediately!

  1. Download & Install
  2. Insert USB stick
  3. Copy & Paste
  4. Recover

1. Download & Install

The first thing is to download Microsoft’s command-line utility, Windows File Recovery, for free.

Just click Start on the left side of the taskbar, type apps: Windows File Recovery, and then click the result.

Then, select Windows File Recovery, download & install it.

2. Insert USB stick

After Windows File Recovery is successfully installed, insert your USB stick into the computer, and check its drive letter in File Explorer.

3. Copy & Paste

winfr e: f: /extensive

Launch Windows File Recovery.

Copy the command above, replace e: with the drive letter of your USB, and replace f: with the drive you want to store the recovered files other than the formatted USB itself.

4. Recover

Press Enter to start recovering.

Hit Y to continue scanning and processing the disk.
